The State Duma approved a major penalty for refusing to stop on demand

The corresponding bill passed the third reading, according to the website of the lower house. According to him, the penalty for ignoring the police officer’s requirements for stopping will grow 12.5-14 times in Russia. Now the amount lies in the range of 500-800 rubles, and with the entry of the law, it will grow to 7-10 thousand.

The bill makes amendments to Art. 12.25 Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. In addition to the growth of the main fine, it sets a new – increased – administrative responsibility for re -violation.

So, a repeated failure to fulfill the police officer’s claim for stopping will be punishable by an administrative fine in the amount of 10 thousand rubles or by depriving the rights of car control for a period of four to six months.

In addition, changes will be made to Art. 12.21.1 Administrative Code, regulating the movement of heavy and bulky vehicles. For violation of the rules of movement in the area of ​​automatic weight -and -power control, the driver will be punished for this with a fine of 10 thousand rubles and deprivation of a certificate. For the owner of the car, the fine will be 10 times more.

Meanwhile, the regions authorities want to receive the right to fine violators of parking rules without the participation of the police, which “cannot cope.” Now only four regions-Moscow and the region, as well as in St. Petersburg and Sevastopol, have such a right.
