A draft law is being prepared for consideration in the State Duma, which provides for the emergence of a new mechanism for receiving payments under the compulsory insurance policy of civil liability of vehicle owners. According to the proposed changes, if, after a traffic accident, the car owner was paid compensation in cash, but these funds were not enough for full repairs, he will be able to apply for additional payment.

As explained by the head of the Russian Union of Auto Stores, Yevgeny Ufimtsev, we are talking about a surcharge for wear of the vehicle and possible hidden damage. At the same time, public transport passengers are already insured in the amount of two million rubles, which is why a situation arises when a car passenger receives much less compensation for the same injuries than a bus or tram passenger.
