Honda is preparing to release an updated version of its sedan for the Indian market, seven years after the model’s debut. The new product will receive a changed design and expanded technological equipment. Carscoops reports this.
Honda has chosen India as one of its priority markets along with North America and Japan, and the City sedan plays a key role in this strategy. The updated version of the model for the Indian market was spotted without camouflage ahead of the planned presentation – this happened just at a time when the company is betting on hybrid technology.
After its premiere in 2019, the Honda City received only a minor update in 2023. The second restyling, planned for 2026, turned out to be much larger – it should help the model keep up with its rivals: Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia and VW Virtus.
Journalist Akbar Merchant published a photo of the prototype without camouflage on the X social network, essentially revealing the appearance of the model before the official premiere on May 22. The main changes affected the front part. Slim LED headlights frame a honeycomb-patterned grille. The chrome strip has been replaced by body-colored trim, and the Honda emblem has moved forward. The front bumper has also been redesigned, with redesigned air intakes and a sharper splitter added.
