The USA is preparing a collective lawsuit against Ferrari: the brakes are to blame

Seven owners of Italian supercars have united to sue the company from Maranello. The reason is the refusal of brakes on almost all Ferrari models from the late 2000s to the beginning of the 2020s. The plaintiffs argue that although the automaker initiated a global response campaign, in reality the problems have not been resolved, which directly threatens safety.

The lawsuit lasts since the end of 2022: at that time, the plaintiffs first sued Ferrari independently of each other. The most loud incident is the brake refusal at the 488 GTB supercar, because of which the owner of Jeffrey Rose had to jump out of the car on the move, and Ferrari rolled into the pond and drowned. The victim claims that the brakes stopped working at all, that is, both circuits refused.

The Italian brand insists that the whole thing is in the defective cover of the brake fluid tank: it did not provide sufficient tightness, which is why the system was “imported”. However, the plaintiffs argue that Ferrari had the rear seals of the main brake cylinder, due to which the brake fluid level fell. At the same time, they did not change the brake cylinders during the response campaign.

While the judge rejected the collective lawsuit, but it seems for formal reasons: the victims have the right to appeal. In addition to the aforementioned owner Ferrari 488 GTB, the holders of F430 Spider, California T and 458 Italia appear in the case. In total, the problem with the brakes raised more than 20 models of supercars, including low -trip special versions.
