The warehouses of Russian dealers have accumulated cars for six months in advance

The general director of the Avtodom company, Andrey Olkhovsky, told the Avtostat publication about this. According to the specialist, a so-called bubble has formed in the domestic automobile market – a situation where dealerships and distributors did not have time to sell the accumulated cars, and suppliers again filled their own sites.

According to Olkhovsky, by the beginning of 2025 the situation on the Russian market turned out to be quite negative, since dealers had stock for about four to six months of sales. The greatest workload is experienced by sellers of popular brands who failed to stop supplies of new cars in time.

Experts say that automakers cannot yet fully plan their production volumes for the current year, since forecasts for 2024 have practically not come true. Other experts believe that today overstocking occurs both at individual brands and at the dealer level. At the same time, car dealerships cannot stimulate car sales due to high prices and at the same time maintain an accumulated volume of vehicles in warehouses.

At the end of last year, Russian automobile warehouses were overflowing with cars from China. Then experts reported that hundreds of thousands of unsold cars had accumulated on the sites.
