At the beginning of 2024, certification of electric vehicles and hybrids was complicated. For brands not included in the list of parallel imports, a simplified procedure ceased to operate – the program “Conclusion on the assessment of a single vehicle” or ZETS. From that moment, electric cars and hybrids began to take certification in accordance with the technical regulations “On the safety of wheeled vehicles”, that is, to receive approval of the type of vehicle (OTTS) following the test results.
In the foreseeable future, mandatory certification of car tires can also be introduced in Russia – this is also the proposal of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. This is done in order to force manufacturers to comply with the requirements for the maximum permissible level of hazardous substances in the composition of rubber. In the meantime, the requirements for tire safety are established by the technical regiment of the Customs Union, in which environmental norms are not prescribed.
