There was a lot of fuel in the tank: the bus was turned around at the Lithuanian border

Since May 3, the Lithuanian authorities have banned the entry into the territory of the country of vehicles whose fuel tanks contain more than 200 liters of fuel. After the introduction of new rules, more than 20 trucks and 2 buses were unable to cross the state border from Belarus. The new restrictions will remain in effect until December 31, 2027.

One of the buses had to travel on the roads of Belarus so that the volume of fuel inside the tank was reduced to 200 liters established by law.

After the diesel fuel was consumed, the passenger liner was allowed to cross the border, the Belarusian publication ABW reports, citing Lithuanian media.

In turn, as the head of the International Transport Department of the Baltic carrier TOKS, Renata Petkevich, clarified, not all companies understood the mechanism of the ban.

Thus, the TOKS company was sure that if the bus was initially refueled in Lithuania and then returned back, then the limit of 200 liters did not apply to it. But that’s not true.
