The Canadian company Inkas Armored, which specializes in creating armored cars and armoring standard vehicles, announced that it was the first to release armor protection for the new generation Lexus GX. It is alleged that the SUV is protected according to the BR6 class, which means it can withstand fire from large-caliber sniper rifles, automatic fire from weapons with a caliber of up to 7.62, and the simultaneous detonation of two hand grenades.
Lexus GX changed its generation in the summer of 2023 – this was the first large-scale modernization for the model in 14 years. The SUV retained its frame structure, permanent all-wheel drive, differential locks and reduction gear, but at the same time it was significantly transformed (and modernized!) outside and inside. The model is based on the TNGA-F frame platform, familiar from the LX, Toyota Land Cruiser 300 and Sequoia, as well as Tundra and Tacoma pickups, and the 4.6-liter naturally aspirated engine is replaced by a 3.4-liter twin-turbo six with a power of up to 354 horsepower.

According to the description on the Inkas Armored website, the first armored GX of the new generation was equipped with protective plates installed under the body skin, and the standard glass was replaced with ballistic ones. Additionally, the door hinges were strengthened, and a protective partition appeared in the trunk. Finally, instead of standard wheels, 20-inch wheels were installed, “shod” with puncture-resistant tires.
