Inexpensive exotic cars like the Dodge Challenger, which were previously targeted by thieves, are popular among car thieves. The most stolen car is the modest Hyundai Elantra, as well as the relatively inexpensive Honda Accord and Hyundai Sonata.
Cars of the Korean brands Kia and Hyundai are among the top ten most “in demand” among car thieves, but both companies have recorded a decrease in the number of thefts. So software updates and other measures taken by automakers seem to have worked.
