Toyota began production of robotaxis of the fourth level of autonomy

The new Toyota Platinum 4X was developed in collaboration with Pony.ai. ITHome reports this.

Pony Company. ai plans to have 1,000 self-driving cars on the road by 2026. The first step towards this was the ceremonial launch of mass production of the Toyota Platinum 4X robotaxi with level four (L4) autonomy at the GAC Toyota plant. The model marks the transition from testing to mass production of drones.

Pony.ai plans to begin deploying thousands of these cars in major metropolitan areas. The company promises to ensure uninterrupted and safe operation of transport around the clock.

Toyota Platinum 4X is equipped with the latest seventh generation autonomous driving system. It has already been tested in the dense traffic of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen and adapted to various operating conditions

It was previously reported that the Exeed EX7 will be the first in the world to receive electronic-mechanical brakes.
