The car is designed to protect against street criminals. The modified car was prepared by specialists from the local company Armormax. The cost of modifications to the car amounted to 42 thousand dollars (approximately 3.6 million rubles at the current exchange rate). Thus, protecting the model cost almost half the cost of the Land Cruiser Prado on the South African market.
The armored SUV is capable of withstanding a direct hit from bullets from pistols and revolvers. These are the weapons most often used by local gangs. To protect the car, the tuners used body panels made of composite material, as well as ballistic glazing 21 millimeters thick. In addition, the Land Cruiser Prado received puncture-resistant tires and a public address system. Additional equipment added only 187 kilograms to the total weight of the SUV.

In South Africa, the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is available exclusively with a 2.8-liter diesel engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Tuners said they were struggling to find a model to rebuild as the queue for Japanese SUVs in South Africa stretched until 2026.
At the beginning of June, Canadian tuners turned a Toyota Tundra pickup into an armored car. Moreover, specialists managed to integrate protective elements inside the car.
