This is the next Cruiser in the Toyota line – the name is given to a compact urban crossover, which is slightly larger than the Yaris Cross. It is fully electric, and will be offered on the European market in three modifications: two single-wheel drive and one all-wheel drive with imitation of inter-wheel locks. The Urban Cruiser’s closest relative is the Suzuki e-Vitara, from which the Toyota crossover differs only in some stylistic decisions in the exterior.
The urban SUV is based on a simplified version of the e-TNGA platform, which it shares with the already mentioned Suzuki e-Vitara from the Maruti Suzuki JV. Both crossovers have the same dimensions: length 4.28 meters, width 1.8 meters, height – 1.64 meters, and the distance between the axles – 2.7 meters. The interior is identical: a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.1-inch multimedia system screen, atmospheric suspension, all-round cameras and a JBL audio system. In addition, a panoramic roof and a set of electronic assistants are announced for the European Urban Cruiser.

The entry-level Urban Cruiser is powered by a single 144-horsepower electric motor located on the front axle. The crossover’s battery is lithium iron phosphate, with a capacity of 49 kilowatt-hours; Power reserve not specified. The second single-drive modification is equipped with a 174-horsepower electric motor, and the battery is increased to 61 kilowatt-hours.
The all-wheel drive Urban Cruiser has two electric motors installed on the front and rear axles, which produce a total of 184 horsepower. The battery of such a crossover also has a capacity of 61 kilowatt-hours.

The official premiere of the Toyota Urban Cruiser for the European market will take place at the Brussels Motor Show, which will be held in mid-January 2025. Production will be organized in India, and sales will launch in the spring.
Toyota already has several Urban Cruisers in its arsenal – this name is used for models presented in India and several eastern countries, for example, Urban Cruiser Taisor and Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
