According to local analysts, sales were at a record high level, despite various problems, including trade tariffs introduced by the administration of US President Donald Trump, which were especially painful for Japan in the automotive industry, TASS reports.
“The Japanese automobile corporation Toyota Motor sold more than 10.47 million cars in the 2025 financial year (ended March 31, 2025),” TASS reports.
Even a sharp drop in supplies to the Middle East did not prevent the record: in March, Toyota exports to this region collapsed by 46.4%. The reason is the escalation around Iran after attacks from the United States and Israel.
In general, at the end of the financial year, global sales of the Japanese auto giant added 2%. At the same time, the company lost 2% on the domestic market (1.48 million cars were sold), but abroad it showed an increase of 2.7% – up to 9 million units.
