Toyota will update the entire Crown family by September 2027

Toyota is preparing an update for the Crown family in the Japanese market. It will include both light cosmetic improvements and technical improvements. The changes will affect the Crown crossover, Sport version and Crown sedan. Going on sale is scheduled for September 3. Carscoops reports this.

The senior model of the line – the Crown crossover (on the market from mid-2022) – will receive an update. According to Creative Trend, the fastback gets a two-tone paint job, gloss black plastic instead of unpainted, and red calipers for the RS version.

Another expected update is the abandonment of the “black 202” color in favor of neutral black. On the tech front, the hybrid setup is likely to become more powerful, and paddle shifters will now be offered as a standard option.

Following the crossover, the turn will come to Crown Sport, presented at the end of 2023. A PHEV Z trim level is expected for this model – it will take a step below the flagship PHEV RS and make the plug-in hybrid more accessible to buyers.

All versions of the Crown – Crossover, Sport and Sedan – will receive a digital key and a slightly updated key fob as standard. As Creative Trend reports with reference to dealers, orders for the updated models will open in late July – early August, and they will go on sale on September 3. Whether the Crown Estate (aka Crown Signia in the US) will have similar changes is still unknown.
