Despite the fact that the Porsche brand produces some of the best sports cars, the beginning of 2026 was not the most successful for the German company. Sales fell in almost all regions outside Germany. According to sources of the IT-home portal, weak performance is forcing the manufacturer to close regional dealership centers in China.
Until the recent closure of several showrooms, Porsche China’s dealer network consisted of 116 sales points throughout the country. In the coming years, their number will be reduced to 80 to improve profitability, the sources said.
According to company reports, each dealership loses 20 to 30 thousand yuan (from 230 to 340 thousand rubles) on each car sold, so further cuts are necessary to improve the financial situation.
In addition, the manufacturer has closed about 200 DC fast charging stations, which were allegedly built with significant investment.
Porsche also plans to streamline and restructure its Chinese operations, with approximately 4,000 job cuts expected.
