The authors of the kit-kat for turning a Japanese roadster into a British sports car were Dutton, reports Carscoops.
British company Dutton has returned to the kit-car market after 37 years with the Phaeton 5, which turns a regular Mazda MX-5 into a Minecraft Caterham.
For $13.5 thousand (about 1.13 million rubles), owners of a donor Mazda MX-5 of the NC generation can completely transform their car without leaving a single external part of it.
The Phaeton 5 is based on the familiar MX-5 platform and its naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The appearance of the new product is completely original: round headlights in wide wings, cutouts instead of doors, side exhaust pipes, a massive grille. All this resembles a heavily redesigned Caterham 7 – as if it was built in the game Minecraft, and then decided to turn it into reality, the portal notes.
In the photographs, the car is painted in a bright light green color, it has black wheels and red calipers. The package includes everything you need to turn the MX-5 into a Phaeton 5, and for an additional cost of about $1.6 thousand (approximately 134 thousand rubles) you can order a fabric roof, side screens and alternative paint colors.
For those who do not want to assemble the car themselves, the company offers factory assembly, which will cost approximately $19.3 thousand (about 1.62 million rubles) including taxes.
