UAZ began producing seats for foreign cars

At the production site of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant they began to produce seats for Sollers cars, built on the basis of Chinese pickup trucks. The capacity is designed to produce 40 thousand sets of seats per year.

“The Sollers Group has launched a new production of seats for Sollers ST6 (ST6) and Sollers ST8 (ST8) pickup trucks at the UAZ industrial site. The design capacity of the line is up to 40 thousand sets of seats per year,” noted a Sollers release received by Motor magazine.

The assembly line for the production of seats is equipped with electronic equipment that actively controls all technological processes. Final computer testing after assembly ensures that the fasteners are tightened correctly, as well as the operation of adjustments and heating.

The assemblers have special tools at their workplaces; there are also stations for steam treatment of upholstery, lubrication and control of product geometry. Russian suppliers supply the conveyor with foam elements for pillows, backs and headrests, as well as upholstery and heating elements.

The line’s capabilities allow us to produce seats for Sollers ST6 and ST8 cars. In the near future, it is also planned to begin production of seats for Sollers ST9 (ST9) pickup trucks.

Sollers ST is a series of mid-size pickup trucks produced since 2023 by the Russian automobile manufacturer Sollers based on the JAC T6, JAC T8 and JAC T9.
