The manufacturer of crossovers and SUVs ended 2024 in the red by nine percent. In twelve months, 587,725 Jeep vehicles found buyers, although marketers have repeatedly stated their ambitions to sell a million units annually in the US market alone. In 2018, there was reason for optimism: then 973 thousand new Jeeps were sold, but since then the situation has only gotten worse.
Two models can take credit for last year: the flagship Wagoneer (and Grand Wagoneer) sold 48% (and 13%) better, although these are Jeep’s highest-margin products. Cumulative sales exceeded 55 thousand units, which is much better than the 2023 figures (40 thousand units). Compass sales also increased to 111 thousand units (+16%).

All other models are in decline. The iconic Wrangler closed the year down three percent, Gladiator sales fell 24%, and the Grand Cherokee found 12% fewer buyers. It is the Grand Cherokee that leads the overall ranking in terms of sales (216 thousand cars). Also this year, the Renegade and Cherokee were discontinued: their remains together accounted for 11 thousand sales.
The hope for 2025 is the Wagoneer S electric vehicle, which recently hit the market. The release of hybrid versions of the Gladiator and Wagoneer could also boost sales. Finally, the new Compass will make its world premiere within the year.
