Volkswagen introduced three show-kara for China

In Shanghai, ID.ra and ID.evo, as well as the ID.Aura sedan, which will be released in conjunction with local partners, debuted. Volkswagen hopes that the new products will help him correct the situation in China, where sales are steadily reduced under the pressure of competitors. To do this, the Germans are ready to reach the “Chinese speed”: it is planned to spend a maximum of 34 months on the development of serial models.

The design of all three concepts refers to id.code, presented last year. The cross itself will not go to the series – he only outlined the vector of the development of the style of future Volkswagen for China. Serial models will be assembled at three different enterprises: ID.ra will “write down” at the SAIC-VOLKSWAGEN, ID.Evo capacities-on Volkswagen Anhui, and ID.Aura on FAW-VOLKSWAGEN.

ID.ra is a three -row crossover with a hybrid installation, in which the ICE plays the role of a generator for charging a battery. On “pure” electricity, the hybrid will pass to 300 kilometers, and the total supply of moves exceeds a thousand kilometers.

The second crossover, ID.evo, is focused on young people. This is an electric car with an 800-volt architecture (therefore, with fast charging), which was probably based on the Xpeng platform. To please the young Chinese, Volkswagen will offer a “wide range of new digital services” and permanent “air” updates.

ID.Aura is built on a specially designed for the Chinese market architecture Compact Main Platform (CMP). The sedan will perform in the price segment A and receive “smart” technologies – a multimedia system and AI -based assistant similar to a smartphone. Volkswagen did not talk about the power plant’s power installation.

In addition, all three cars are promised highly automated driving systems. Next year they can reach 2 ++. This means that cars will be able to drive autonomously in a number of conditions, perform overtaking and turning, and also integrated into the stream under the control of the driver.

Despite the fall in sales, the Chinese division of Volkswagen is not going to give up: until 2027, the company will release more than 30 new products in the PRC with the help of partners, including 20 electric cars and hybrids. At the same time, the Germans “make the cash desk” cars with internal combustion engines, and interest in electric cars, including new items, is weak.
