Volkswagen showed the future ninth Golf

An image of the new generation of the car, which has become a benchmark in its class, was demonstrated at a meeting of Volkswagen employees. Judging by the silhouette, the body shape of the ninth Golf will resemble the seventh generation car.

“This week, at a company meeting in Wolfsburg, Volkswagen showed the 9th generation Golf in silhouette. Even from this image, it is clear that the next generation Golf will be very similar to the current model, and even to the Golf 7 that preceded it,” notes Motor1.

Volkswagen looks set to finally abandon the idea of two parallel universes with radically different cars with internal combustion engines and electric drive: the ID. The Golf will appear no earlier than 2028, and, according to the company, its design will not differ radically from the classic Golf with an internal combustion engine. Moreover, Wolfsburg hints that the gasoline version may linger on the assembly line: perhaps it will receive a serious update just in time for the release of its electric brother.

In addition, it is known that future Volkswagen models will get rid of the total dominance of touch panels: physical buttons will again appear on the steering wheel and center console.

Previously, the updated Tank 700 was presented in China.
