The new product, called the Camry Glorious Edition (literally “magnificent performance”), is entering the Chinese market. The GAC-Toyota joint venture will produce the “magnificent” Camry. The Camry Glorious Edition is distinguished from other versions by its exclusive matte gray body color, darkened Toyota emblems and a sports body kit that includes a splitter, rear diffuser and spoiler.
Blacked-out exterior details and a dark grille, coupled with sporty elements and 19-inch wheels, give the Camry Glorious Edition a resemblance to Lexus models. The interior features velvet and genuine leather, ambient lighting with 64 color options and a Boss Key button that moves the front passenger seat forward, freeing up more space for the passenger sitting in the back.

The basis for the “magnificent” special version was the ninth-generation hybrid Camry with a 197-horsepower gas-electric unit based on a two-liter “four”. The Camry Glorious Edition was valued in China at 202.8 thousand yuan, which in terms of rubles at today’s exchange rate is 2.77 million.

The Carscoops website notes that a year has passed since the launch of the new generation Toyota Camry (designated XV80) in China, and sales of the model are modest. The base sedan is equipped with a combination of a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine and a CVT, and the alternative is two hybrid modifications – 2.0 HEV and 2.5 HEV.
