The actor became interested in converting classics into electric cars – he started with a 1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom II, then made a miniature Bentley Blower EV. Now it’s the turn of a pair of rare Land Rovers and three vintage Harley-Davidsons from the 1920s, reports Carscoops.
British electric vehicle company Electrogenic is the newest chapter in Jason Momoa’s ever-growing and eclectic garage. The firm features prominently in the second season of his HBO Max docuseries On The Roam. This time, Electrogenic has converted five classic cars and created a camper trailer with a powerful battery for long, autonomous expeditions.
Motorcycles deserve special attention as they offer a fresh take on the electrification of classics. The Electrogenic company did not dismantle the original engines, but made plug-in hybrids from two Harley-Davidson Model JDs of the 1920s.
On his 1924 and 1927 JD Plug-in models, Momoa can choose between electric motor only (15 hp), original gasoline engine only (20 hp), or both. The electric motor develops 260 Nm of torque, which eliminates the need for a traditional kickstarter.
