Information has appeared on the Rosstandart website about the recall campaign, which will be handled by AGR, the official representative of the German concern VAG. A defect in the fuel system has been identified on Polo and Rapid: when the engine is idled for a long time at extreme temperatures (below -35°C), electrostatic charge may accumulate on the surface of the fuel lines.
The regulator does not specify whether electrostatic discharge can cause a fire. All Russian-made liftbacks will have a fuel filter grounding cable installed free of charge. The service will work on each car for about half an hour. The recall affected 31,741 Skoda Rapid and 23,943 Volkswagen Polo, a total of almost 56 thousand cars.

AGR representatives will inform owners of problem vehicles by telephone and by sending messages. You can find out whether a car is subject to recall on the Rosstandart website by checking the identification number of the Volkswagen Polo or Skoda Rapid against the list. Judging by the VIN codes, the recall will affect only Russian-made cars.
After the departure of the Volkswagen concern from Russia, for some time the auto giant was engaged in service and warranty support. However, from 2025 there will be no official supplies of spare parts. The problem will affect not only Volkswagens, but also all cars of the group: Seat, Skoda, Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini and Audi.
