On the RuTube channel of the founder of Club Service, Ilya Sviridov, a review of the “Chinese” from the assembly line of the Tula Great Wall plant appeared. This time, a three-year-old car with a mileage of 130 thousand kilometers from the Vladimir region came into view. The blogger assessed the condition of the body, paintwork, engine and transmission, looked into the power unit and disassembled the interior.

The Haval Jolion from the video was produced in 2021, but was first registered on January 29, 2022, so it is almost three years old. We are talking about a modest front-wheel drive version of Russian production: it has a 1.5-liter turbo engine and a 7-speed “robot”. There are no complaints about the safety of the body: no rust could be found, clean metal under the chips.

Ilya Sviridov criticized the thickness of the paintwork: the “Chinese” is painted at 55-80 microns, while for Japanese models the thickness of the paintwork only starts at 90 microns. The serviceman also didn’t like the sandblasted bottom: the factory coating on the rear beam and shock absorbers had worn off, and rust had appeared in some places.

Updated Haval Jolion. If only the dealer had quietly acquired the latest Russian-assembled Haval crossover. The first region of Russia purchased the latest Haval H9 for officials.

Endoscopy and compression measurements in the engine did not reveal anything critical: in general, the unit is in good condition, there are light scratches and defects similar to microscuffs, but there is no increased oil consumption, and compression is normal. The manufacturer estimates the absolute resource at 160 thousand kilometers, so we can assume: the unit is in the middle of its life cycle.

There are no oil leaks on the engine and gearbox housings, the suspension, wiring and hoses are flawless. The front stabilizer struts were changed, and the brakes were changed “in a circle” at 130 thousand. Ilya Sviridov did not find any problems with the chassis. But water accumulates in the cabin: both in the front legs and in the niche of the fifth door. There is no rust yet, but fluid accumulation is not encouraging.

As a result, Club Service considered the Haval Jolion a compromise, but an acceptable product in terms of price/quality balance. For the first owner, such a car can be a good investment, but subsequent owners will have to evaluate the limits of reliability of Chinese technical solutions from their own experience.
