The start of production of the updated Lada Niva Legend SUV is scheduled for July 2026, and by September the car will be available for free sale at dealers. Alexander Shaprinsky, commercial director of the Pragmatika dealership network, told the Autostat agency about this.
According to the specialist, one should not expect explosive growth in sales, but there will be a small “deferred demand” at the start. “Further, sales volumes will show positive dynamics at the level of 15-20% in relation to sales of this SUV a year earlier,” the expert predicted. He also noted that the new product will encourage owners of old Nivas to replace them.
The main technical innovation is a 1.8-liter 8-valve engine, already familiar from Niva Travel. It has become more powerful (torque has increased by 24 Nm) and more economical – fuel consumption has decreased by 3-30%.
For the first time, the body received parts made of double-sided galvanized steel – the front panel, hood, roof, rear door and rear apron. Now Niva Legend is not afraid of corrosion. There was also a driver’s airbag for the first time. The front suspension has been modernized, ergonomics have been improved: the gearbox lever is brought closer to the driver, the transfer case control has become single-lever.
On the outside, the updated model is distinguished by an air intake on the hood and two-tone 16-inch wheels. The price will be announced later.
