The assembly of the Chinese crossover was established at the facilities of the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad. According to the Chinese Cars portal, the approval of the type of vehicle (OTTS) on C7 local assembly – the document necessary for selling the model in the Russian market – has already been received. However, production began earlier: the first C7 left the Kaliningrad conveyor in August.
Otts on the Omoda C7 of the Russian assembly was designed by Baltavto, affiliated with Autotor. The plant was modernized under the production of a crossover: they launched robotic welding lines and created a paint complex through which up to 200 thousand bodies can pass annually.
Until now, it has not been known which plant would choose Omoda for the production of C7. Earlier, the crossover was certified for assembly at the AGK plant in Kaluga-ex-Volkswagen, where Tenet brand crossovers are now being produced (they are Cher with other nameplate).
For the first time, the novelty of Omoda is recalled in Russia – the C7 crossover meets the flagship: Omoda introduced in Russia a stylish C7 Geely crossover revealed the name of the first connected hybrid for Russia
Omoda C7 appeared on sale in Russia in May of this year, but at first cars from China were supplied.
C7 is equipped with a 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 150 horsepower (275 Nm of Twisting), working in tandem with a semidiapasic “robot” with a dual clutch of wet type. Front or complete drive. The cost varies from 3 109 900 to 3 659 900 rubles excluding discounts.
