In 2024, the Minsk Automobile Plant presented the MAZ X project – a conceptual truck, the task of which was to show the achievements of Minskers for the next generation. As the editorial office of Motor found out, this year the show was radically finalized by changing the interior, the cabin of the cab and the general layout. Ahead is the release of the first experimental party.
As the deputy chief designer for cargo equipment of the Minsk Automobile Plant Nikolai Lokotko told Motor, several such tractors will be made in the next few months that will be transferred to loyal carriers for test operation.
Updated trucks have a hybrid power plant, which is based on a 350-horsepower turbodiesel with a volume of 7.8 liters: it through the generator and the battery provides electric energy by a pair of electric motors rotating the rear wheels.
To reduce the mass of the truck, the engineers used plastic lining panels, a lightweight frame and a single -sloping error of the leading bridge. Another important nuance of the structure is the only sliding door to the right (there is no door cabin on the left side).

Meanwhile, MAZ built a new bus plant and will double production. Now the Minsk car factory will be able to produce up to 3,000 buses annually: in recent years, the company issued only 1,500-1800 units of transport.
