The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant does not plan to produce hybrid cars, at least in the near future. Now the company is focusing on traditional models equipped with classic power units without electrical add-ons.

The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant presented a sample of a hybrid model at the Innoprom-2017 International Industrial Forum. The layout was then prepared on the basis of the “Profi” commercial model. It was assumed that trial operation of such machines would begin no later than 2019.

The prototype was equipped with a naturally aspirated gasoline engine, a starter-generator unit with a capacity of 84 kilowatts, an electric motor (105 kilowatts of power and 469 Nm of torque) and a 25-kilowatt battery.

Representatives of the company assured that such cars will be able to travel up to a thousand kilometers at one gas station, and fuel consumption will be limited to seven liters for every “hundred”, while the electric range will be up to 100 kilometers.
