An unusual lot appeared at the online auction Bring a Trailer – a modified Ford Mustang, which was turned into an off-road vehicle. The restomod, based on an open-top 1968 Mustang, received a number of custom modifications, including off-road tires and a spotlight unit on the roll bar, and was also equipped with a powerful Coyote V8 engine. So far, the current rate for a car is almost half the cost of modifications.

The body of the car is stylized as a “charged” version of the Shelby GT500, and under the hood there is a modern Coyote V8 engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The car interior is trimmed with genuine leather. In addition to typical restomod upgrades, the Mustang is equipped with Nitto Ridge Grappler tires and a full-size spare tire mounted on the trunk lid.

Despite its off-road appearance, the Mustang’s off-road capabilities are limited due to the lack of all-wheel drive. Although there is a differential lock at the rear, the short-travel suspension with minimal compression travel will not allow you to drive quickly on bad roads. According to the lot description, about 110 thousand dollars were spent on the project, and the current bid at the auction exceeded 60 thousand.

Earlier, another unusual project based on the Ford Mustang was shown on the Internet – the world’s largest example of this model, built for an Arab sheikh. In addition to its impressive dimensions, the homemade car is equipped with a high-performance V8 Hemi engine. Details about the technical characteristics and price of the unique Mustang are not reported.
