The car, aimed at the Indian market, has received new design elements that visually bring the compact crossover closer to higher-class cars. In India, the restyled version should be striking from afar, the designers explain.

The Skoda Kushaq gets new LED headlights and grille. The branded graphics with the headlights divided into two sections have been preserved, and new decorative lighting elements have appeared in the design.

“Light is the new chrome. The tastes of Indian consumers are changing rapidly. However, they still value chrome, so light elements are complemented by fins in the radiator grille, door handles and window frames with chrome trim,” designer Romain Bucaille explained the extensive use of light elements on the car’s exterior.

The interior features decorative carbon fiber inserts and new seat trim. The maximum configuration includes ventilated front seats and an electric drive with memory settings for the driver’s seat. Climate control is now standard on all versions.

Under the hood of the updated Kushaq is the familiar range of TSI turbo engines, including a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine with 115 hp. and a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 150 hp. Both units are mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. For version 1.5 TSI, a 7-speed DSG robot with two clutches is also available.
