An SUV with increased ground clearance, additional headlights, an expeditionary trunk and a protective plastic body kit was shown at the FAT Ice Race festival in Austria. With the Bentayga X Concept, Bentley is exploring customer interest in serious SUVs.

The prototype, based on the Bentayga Speed, is designed to explore public interest in a “more off-road-focused” version of the flagship SUV. The car is equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 petrol engine producing 650 hp. The main changes concern the chassis: the vehicle’s ground clearance is increased by 55 mm, the track is widened by 120 mm, and the standard wheels are replaced with off-road ones, with 22-inch Brixton wheels and tires with developed lugs.

In addition, the Bentayga was made more functional: reinforced bumpers, four projector headlights, roof rails and towing eyes appeared. The declared ford depth exceeds 550 mm.

The unveiling of the concept marks the beginning of Bentley’s multi-year partnership with the organizers of the FAT Ice Race. The event also saw the debut of the new Continental GT S on the ice. Bentley emphasizes that the Bentayga X was created to collect feedback, and the decision on the possible mass production of such a car will depend on the reaction of potential buyers and connoisseurs of Bentley cars.

Previously, seven factories were opened in Kaliningrad for the production of cars and their components.
