These include cars that are often used in taxis, have legal problems and are often involved in accidents. Indirect evidence that the car was intensively and carelessly operated is the large number of fines for traffic violations that are registered with it.
The rating of the most problematic cars was compiled by the Avtocod service based on the results of checking 300 thousand cars in 2025 using various databases. The cars whose history most often includes working in a taxi are Hyundai Solaris (1.7 thousand cars from those checked by the service), Kia Rio (almost 1.3 thousand cars) and Volkswagen Polo (1 thousand cars). The same three models make up the top of the rating of cars involved in accidents.
Among the cars checked by the service, restrictions on registration actions were most often found in the Toyota Camry (2.2 thousand problem cars). In second place is the BMW 5 Series (1.8 thousand cars), in third place is the Mercedes-Benz E-Class (1.5 thousand). The cars with the largest amount of fines imposed are Toyota Camry, Kia Rio and Hyundai Solaris.
“The data shows that popular models often have several problems at once. For example, Hyundai Solaris and Kia Rio appear in reports due to fines, accidents and taxi work. And with Toyota Camry, buyers also often find fines, including unpaid ones, and restrictions on registration actions,” notes the Avtocod study.
Previously, the most unreliable automatic transmissions of Chinese cars were named.
