According to Bild, in Germany alone, 28,000 cars are subject to recall. However, the global scope of the campaign could be much wider.

The service promotion covers the BMW 2 Series Coupe, various modifications of the 3rd, 4th and 5th Series, the 6th Series Gran Turismo, the 7th Series Limousine, as well as the X4, X5, X6 crossovers and the Z4 Roadster.
The specialized publication kfz-Betrieb names a specific number of recalled cars – 575 thousand units, but BMW has not yet officially confirmed it.
