At CES 2025 in Las Vegas, the BMW Group will demonstrate a pre-production version of the new BMW iDrive system with the innovative BMW Panoramic Vision display and BMW Operating System X. The new option will become standard on all new models of the brand from the end of 2025.
The new BMW iDrive system combines four key elements: the panoramic BMW Panoramic Vision head-up display that projects information from pillar to pillar of the windscreen, an optional 3D Head-Up Display, a central touchscreen with matrix illumination and a new multifunction steering wheel with haptic feedback and illuminated buttons.

BMW Operating System X, based on the Android Open Source Project, provides enhanced upgradeability and personalization capabilities, including the use of artificial intelligence technologies and large language models to improve voice control. The system has been tested with 3,000 customers in BMW Group laboratories.
Earlier it became known that BMW plans to release a limited edition Skytop model in a targa body based on the M8 Competition convertible. The circulation will be only 50 copies, equipped with a V8 4.4 engine and all-wheel drive. The estimated cost of the car will be about $500,000.
