The corresponding amendments to the law on compulsory motor liability insurance were prepared by the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, Anatoly Aksakov. If the amendments are adopted, vehicle owners will have the right to enter into an insurance contract through the government services portal, but will not be able to receive discounts on the policy.
“The cost of the policy will be calculated “at the maximum base rate of the insurance tariff for the corresponding type of transport, as well as taking into account the values of the standard coefficients for cars and the individual values of the coefficients of all drivers allowed to drive,” notes the explanatory note,” writes Kommersant, which has familiarized itself with the bill and the accompanying documentation.
The contract drawn up through Gosuslugi will take effect three days after registration and payment. The Ministry of Finance conceptually supported the initiative to register compulsory motor liability insurance through State Services for certain individuals. The executive director of the National Taxi Council association, Natalia Lozinskaya, in a conversation with the publication, indicated that insurance companies often refuse to insure taxi cars, and without special insurance, the carrier cannot legally operate. Motorcycle owners also face difficulties in obtaining compulsory motor insurance: numerous glitches occur on the websites of insurance companies.
Previously, drivers were warned about new grounds for deprivation of rights.
