In 2025, more than 524 thousand new passenger cars with all-wheel drive were sold in Russia – this is almost 40% of the entire market. Such data is contained in the marketing report “Market of new passenger cars in Russia. Results of 2025, trends and prospects”, which was prepared by experts from the Autostat agency.

“The most popular all-wheel drive car in the Russian Federation was the Geely Monjaro crossover, which was sold in the amount of 37.7 thousand units last year. Second place in this ranking was taken by the Lada Niva Legend SUV (34.3 thousand units), and the leader of 2024, the Lada Niva Travel SUV (34.1 thousand units), dropped to third,” the publication says.

Fourth place was taken by Haval Jolion with a result of 33.2 thousand all-wheel drive versions – sales of other models did not exceed 15 thousand. The passenger car segment performed better than the market as a whole in 2025: with an overall drop of 15.6%, sales of all-wheel drive vehicles decreased by only 13%. Some models felt even more confident: for Haval Jolion the decline was only 6%, for Haval F7 – 10%, and Geely Atlas and Belgee X70 went into positive territory (+18% and an increase of 5.2 times, respectively).

Geely Monjaro, Lada Niva Legend, Niva Travel and GAC GS8 only have versions with all-wheel drive. The Haval Dargo also has an almost 100% figure – 99.8%. But for Haval Jolion, Belgee X70 and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max, only every second car sold was all-wheel drive.

Previously, the price of the new Jaecoo J6 crossover in Russia was announced.
