The first two-wheeled model, intended for use in factories, could be introduced as early as the middle of this year, IT Home reports.

The development of humanoid robots has been underway at Li Xiang under the code name Nexus for almost a year. The team of fewer than 30 people is led by He Junpei, a former partner at robotics startup Jiuguang Intelligent who joined the company in 2024.

The publication’s sources reveal that the project plans to create two types of robots: two-wheeled and two-legged. The two-wheeled version is already ready for launch and will primarily be used in production workshops.

Robot development began in 2023. However, after some time, CEO Li Xiang considered the technology not mature enough and froze the initiative. However, towards the end of 2024, the head of the company changed his mind, deciding that in this direction “we need to work proactively.”

It was previously reported that UAZ would rename the SUV for the first time in the history of the Hunter model.
