The European division of Ford announced improvements to the power plant of the Explorer crossover, which will switch to electric power in 2023. Installing a new battery increased the range by 17%, and the upgraded engine of the initial version increased power. In addition, the car has acquired a number of new functions. Accepting orders for the updated electric car is already open on the European market.

The base version of the Ford Explorer is now equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 58 kWh, which provides a range of up to 444 kilometers. Before this, this figure was 378 km. The engine of the initial modification has gained about 20 horsepower: it now produces 190 hp. and 350 Nm of torque. Thanks to this, acceleration to 100 km/h was reduced from 8.7 to 8.0 seconds.

Other improvements include updated multimedia system software and the Pro Power Onboard function, which allows you to power external electrical devices from the car’s battery. The model was also equipped with a more modern set of assistance systems, including an automatic parking attendant and a driver condition monitoring system. Adaptive cruise control has been supplemented with a traffic light recognition function.
