Tesla’s controlled Full Self-Driving (FSD) system is already in use by thousands of owners across the United States. The technology remains at the forefront of industry attention due to its ambitious prospects. However, it is still imperfect and, according to a recent lawsuit filed against the company, may pose a security risk.
Last August, the owner of a Cybertruck activated the FSD system. When approaching the junction, the autopilot was supposed to turn right, but drove the car straight – towards the concrete fence. The driver managed to take control a moment before the impact, but failed to prevent the collision.
As a result of the head-on impact, the woman was seriously injured. Judging by the photo from the accident scene, the front of the Cybertruck is severely deformed, the bumper is broken, and debris is scattered across the road.
The lawsuit also states that Tesla’s decision to use only cameras for its autonomous driving system, eschewing radar and lidar, contributed to the accident. The company is accused of negligence and demands compensation in the amount of more than $1 million (approximately 79 million rubles)
Previously, cars crashed on the Moscow Ring Road and made traffic difficult.
