Mercedes-Benz C-Class IV generation (W205) underwent restyling in 2018. The basic version is rear-wheel drive, but on the secondary market about a quarter of cars are equipped with all-wheel drive. Prices range from 1.7 million rubles to 4 million rubles for copies in perfect condition. The average mileage is only 102 thousand kilometers. The magazine’s auto expert Sergei Zinoviev spoke about the features of the used Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan.
“A comfortable and reliable car with a very durable suspension. The body has excellent corrosion resistance. Only the motors spoil the picture. Despite the extensive line-up, there is no aspirated air here either. Two thirds of the proposals are with the junior 1.6 turbo engine (150 or 156 hp). You can live with it, but nervously: the life of the timing chain, thermostat, pump, phase regulators is low, plus leaks,” the expert noted.
According to him, the 2-liter M274 engine (184 hp) has similar problems. They were replaced by the 1.5 (184 hp) M264 series with a new set of “sores”: injectors, carbon deposits, piston damage from bad fuel. Against this background, the 2.1 diesel engine looks advantageous, capable of traveling 300 thousand km without major interventions. But diesel versions are more expensive and rare.
Zinoviev also said that hydromechanical automatic transmissions 725.0 and 722.9 are reliable and can last 350 thousand kilometers. However, the main disadvantage of the model is the lack of a decent gasoline engine.
Earlier it was reported that KamAZ will release a new 18-liter turbodiesel.
