At the Brussels Motor Show, the results of the Car of the Year 2025 competition were announced: the Renault 5 won the award. For the second time since 1964, a representative of the same brand has won the Car of the Year twice in a row: in 1995-1996, Fiat Punto and Fiat Bravo won, and in 2024 -2025 Renault Scenic and Renault 5 were chosen as winners. French hatchback Kia EV3 and Citroen C3 won by a large margin.

According to tradition, the jury of the Car of the Year competition consisted of 60 automotive journalists from 23 countries. Renault 5 (and its “charged” version Alpine A290) scored 353 points. The other finalists are the Kia EV3 (291 points), Citroen C3 (215), Hyundai Inster (172), Dacia Duster (168), Cupra Terramar (165) and Alfa Romeo Junior (136). The organizers presented the award personally to the CEOs of Renault and Alpine.
