Certification documents for an interesting four-door have appeared in the open database of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Chinese journalists believe: BYD e7 is designed specifically for taxis. The fact is that the “e” indices for cars have not been used in the domestic market for a long time, and the predecessor BYD e5 was intended for rental services and taxi fleets. Also, corporate sales are indicated by equipment features.

BYD e7 is similar to a simplified and cheaper version of Seal: electric vehicles have almost identical dimensions, a similar design, but smaller wheels (16 inches) and classic door handles for a direct grip. Only two wheel options and a simple roof with a sunroof are certified: by BYD standards, the approach is very utilitarian.

The technology is also simple: the same electric motor (136 horsepower) and the Blade’s lithium iron phosphate batteries hint at the most pragmatic design. At the same time, BYD e7 can be classified as a business class: body length is 4.78 meters, wheelbase is 2.82 meters. The curb weight will be 1.5-1.57 tons, depending on the modification.

Four modifications with hybrid and purely electric power plants are announced, and the design of the version with the letter L will not be unified with the regular BYD Han.
