It turned out that cars assembled in China in joint ventures with Chinese auto giants GAC and FAW are equipped with potentially dangerous rear seats. Due to the imperfect design of the seat adjustment mechanism, the backrest is poorly fixed.
“Excessive force of the return spring of the rear seat backrest adjustment mechanism results in poor seatback fixation, which may increase the risk of injury to passengers in the event of a collision,” Reuters quoted China’s State Administration for Market Regulation as saying.
The recall campaign in the Chinese market starts next month. It will affect, in particular, 318 thousand Toyota Highlander crossovers and 242.2 thousand Toyota Crown Cluger crossovers.
It also became known that Mercedes-Benz will show the updated GLE, GLE Coupe and GLS crossovers on March 31. It is expected that the latter will receive the most modern version of the V8 engine.
Earlier it turned out that an updated Nissan Navara pickup truck with an eight-speed automatic transmission was presented on the Chinese market.
