The study by the British portal took into account which models break down the least often and how long it takes to repair them.
The leader of the list is the Alfa Romeo Giulia sedan, produced since 2016. The reliability level of the Italian model reached 98.2%. Over the past two years, only 4% of owners complained about breakdowns, and all faults were fixed free of charge. The main problems are related to the electronics (not related to the engine), the braking system, as well as body and trim elements. In half of the cases, the repair took from one day to a week, another quarter of the cars spent longer in the service.
Second place went to the seventh-generation BMW 3-Series sedan with a gasoline engine. Its reliability rate was 98% – only 6% of owners reported breakdowns. For comparison, among hybrid versions this figure reached 26%, and among diesel versions – 27%. The weak points of the gasoline “troika” were the 12-volt battery, electronics, engine, suspension and interior trim. Most problems were fixed free of charge within one day to a week.
The third place was taken by the Skoda Superb liftback model 2015-2024. The most reliable version was the diesel version with a rating of 98%. Only 18% of the vehicles surveyed had problems, and they were exclusively related to the exhaust system or the 12-volt battery. More than half of the cars (67%) were repaired in a day or less, the rest – up to a week. All work was carried out free of charge at the expense of the manufacturer.
The top ten most reliable business class cars also included: Mercedes-Benz E-Class (2016–2024), BMW 5-Series with a gasoline engine (2017–2023), Hyundai Ioniq 6 (2022–present), Jaguar XE (2015–2024), Jaguar XF (2015–2024), Volkswagen Passat (2015–2022) and BMW 3-Series with diesel engine (2019-2024).
Not a single Toyota car was included in the rating, although the Japanese brand is traditionally famous for its reliability.
