Due to cost savings against the backdrop of falling sales, Kamaz may transfer some of its divisions to this schedule. This was reported by the Mash Telegram channel.
“For example, the demand for truck tractors fell by 70%, and for dump trucks by ±60%. This is all due to the fact that carriers have postponed updating their fleets. This led to a decrease in order volumes and a decrease in conveyor load. The result is that the company lost about 20 billion rubles in 2025, revenue decreased, and warehouses began to fill with unsold equipment,” the publication says.
Additional pressure on the market was exerted by Chinese manufacturers, who in total sold about 20 thousand cars in the Russian Federation. Increased competition has slowed the domestic automaker’s sales rate. The market continued to cool in 2026, with sales remaining below previous levels and inventories remaining intact. Against this background, according to some employees, Kamaz management began to consider the option of switching to a three-day work week.
The company confirmed that due to “weak market growth prospects and an excess of Chinese equipment,” a transition to a shorter working week is possible. For now, they expect to limit themselves to a four-day period, which will most likely be introduced on June 1.
