Last week, 24.9 thousand new passenger cars were registered in Russia, the head of the company, Sergei Tselikov, said in his Telegram channel.
“Last week, 24.9 thousand new passenger cars were registered. This is 20% less than the week before. But you shouldn’t worry too much about the minus. Let me remind you that the “statistical record” of the previous 14th week was associated with the closing of the 1st quarter by dealers. Therefore, the current “step back” can be considered quite logical,” Tselikov said.
However, the expert does not advise dramatizing: the record of the previous, 14th week was associated with the closing of the quarter by dealers, so the current pullback is logical. The market continues to recover slowly: plus 28% compared to the same week last year.
April, according to Tselikov’s forecasts, will be slightly higher than March – approximately 110 thousand cars. The LCV segment (up to 3.5 tons) is also negative: 1,454 units (-7% compared to the week before and -13% year-on-year). But the trucks pleased us: 1,184 new vehicles (+11.5% for the week, +17% compared to last year). Heavy HCVs (over 16 tons) showed 906 units (+15% compared to APY), and the analyst expects the positive dynamics to continue due to the low base of 2024.
