A second stamping workshop will be launched at the Great Wall Motor plant. With its launch, the company will be able to talk about a full-scale model production cycle, Gazeta.Ru reports following a conversation with the President of Great Wall Motor Rus Zhang Junxue.
“Another stage in deepening our localization is the second stamping workshop, which we will launch very soon. With its launch, we can already talk about a full-scale model production cycle,” said Zhang Junxue, President of Great Wall Motor Rus LLC.
This will significantly reduce logistics costs and create even more jobs for the Tula region. In addition, the Russian division of the Chinese manufacturer is investing in the production of transmission elements, chassis, and interior parts.
Since 2024, Haval has been assembling 1.5 and 2.0 liter turbo engines at its own plant in the Tula region. When the production of gearboxes is established, the company will fulfill the SPIC concluded in 2020: according to this document, the plant needs to score 7 thousand points for localization, and welding and painting give only 900 points.
