The premium brand Hongqi (“Honchi”) announced the Russian premiere of the Guoya model, which is the brand’s most expensive product. This is a 5.35-meter car with a four- or five-seater interior, all-wheel drive and a classic 8-speed automatic transmission.
In the top modification, the sedan is equipped with a 4.0-liter V8: its output is 557 hp, the same amount produced by the M177 twin-turbo eight in the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600. But there are also versions equipped with a V6 engine.
It is clarified that the design of the model, developed under the supervision of the famous automotive chief designer Giles Taylor, combines classical European canons with sophisticated eastern harmony.
The hieroglyphs that make up the word “GUOYA” carry two layers of meaning: “go” (“nation”) – personifies the greatness and power of a great power, “ya” (“elegance”) embodies discreet inner beauty.
“The entry of the Hongqi Guoya model into the Russian market is a new chapter in the history of the brand,” notes Ivan Savelyev, executive director of Hongqi in Russia.
