The new design could be one of the most extreme in the history of the model, reports Carscoops.
The model was produced for six years and was considered one of the best-looking in the line, but sales were too low to justify the development of a successor.
It is expected that the new S-Class Coupe will retain the proportions of its predecessor: long hood, sloping roof, elegant silhouette. But the details will be completely different. The front part will receive narrow headlights with daytime running lights and a huge radiator grille. At the rear there are thin LED lights and a black diffuser.
Technically, the next S-Class (both sedan and coupe) will follow a dual strategy like the BMW 7 Series rival. This means that Mercedes will offer buyers versions with a classic internal combustion engine and fully electric ones. The consequence of this decision is that the current generation of EQS will be the last. It will be replaced by the electric S-Class.
The premiere of the new generation is expected towards the end of the decade. If Mercedes-Benz does decide to revive the coupe, it will be one of the brand’s boldest image moves in recent years.
