The elegant seventh-generation Polo ditched the internal combustion engine entirely, but the GTI version will have to wait a little longer. Carscoops reports this.

Over more than 50 years of production, Polo has sold over 20 million copies. Now Volkswagen is introducing a new, seventh generation – the all-electric ID hatchback. Polo on the MEB+ platform with front-wheel drive, a range of up to 455 km and an affordable starting price.

Volkswagen has opened pre-orders for the ID. Polo in Germany. The starting price of the basic Trend configuration is 24,995 euros (approximately 2.1 million rubles), and the manufacturer places emphasis on it. But you can immediately purchase only the Life version with a price starting from 33,795 euros (about 3 million rubles). The line will expand in the summer.

Three power options are available at launch. 114 hp versions and 133 hp equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 37 kWh. The range of such cars reaches 329 km, they support fast charging with direct current with a power of up to 90 kW. To replenish the charge from 10 to 80%, it will take about 27 minutes.
